Focused Fern walk in Belchertown

Focused Fern walk in Belchertown

Sunday, September 26, 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm
Conservation land (to be described later)

We are entering the peak of the season for Grape Ferns, and this is an opportunity to see a lot of them. This is a banner year for fungi and ferns, and we will get a chance to see the variations in the Cut-leaf Grape Fern (Sceptridium dissectum) on this walk. Easy walking, short distance. Numerous ferns along or close to path. Also several other common ferns, including a lot of marsh fern!

We have been visiting this site for many years, and this is the most grape ferns we have seen here. Care in walking through this area will be very important. No children or pets please.

We will get back to you with the specific location later this week by email. We wouldn't take a group here if we didn't know you folks would be careful, and thrilled.

Last PVFS fern walk of the season, except for the Black Friday hike at Mt. Toby.
