Briggs Brook Fern Walk

Sunday July 10 1-3PM

Come hike along a woods road at Gate 15 in the Quabbin watershed, enjoying the old trees, stonewalls, 15 fern species, wildflowers and a lovely old mill site on Briggs Brook. Route is flat, then downhill to the mill site, and back uphill on the way back.

Ferns include the top 10 common ferns such as Hay, Cinnamon & Lady, plus Marsh, Narrow Beech & Crested.

No dogs are allowed on Quabbin watershed land.

Be prepared for possible ticks & other insects, poison ivy and muddy ground.

Parking is limited, please share a ride if you can. See poster linked to calendar event for directions. Gate 15 is located off Rt 202 in Shutesbury, about 2 miles north of the Pelham light at 202 and Amherst Rd.
