Sunday May 14th 1-3PM
This Sunday join us in seeing and identifying about 20 ferns and many spring wildflowers at this beautiful location at Chard Pond in Sunderland from 1-3PM. Columbine, toothwort, trillium, maidenhair spleenwort, fragile ferns, ostrich and many more. And there are waterfalls too!
Moderate level hike, some uneven and muddy areas. Prepare for some poison ivy, possible ticks.
See poster attached to Calendar listing for details. Chard Pond is located on Falls Rd, about a mile north of intersection with Rt 47. There are only a few parking places on the interior rough road. Better to park along the roadside. We will meet at the corner of Falls Rd and Gunn Cross Rd.
The photo is of Silvery Spleenwort near the waterfalls. There is also a trillium peeking through the ferns.
